When is the right time to replace your boiler?

Technology is changing every day and in order to stay energy efficient, which will help the government to meet their target of 0 carbon emissions by 2050.  Having the latest boiler technology installed in your home is the right way to go.  Boilers are the heart of the home and life spans in general are very good.

Future Technology

With technology so rapidly changing every day we recommend changing your boiler every 6 – 10 years.  This will help ensure you never have a problem with your boiler and your energy bills stay as low as possible. Having the latest boiler technology on the market helps to ensure you’ve got the best energy efficient measures in place.

When looking at changing your boiler you should also consider the following:  usage, maintenance and boiler type. Never just base your decision on just the age of your boiler, keeping an eye on your energy bills will tell you a lot also about your boiler.  When you notice them increasing and or the comfort of your home changing it may be time to replace your boiler.  If your home is taking longer than usual to be heated and bleeding your radiators doesn’t help, then it definitely might be time to replace your boiler.

Boiler Replacement Grant

If you’re a home owner on benefits or in what’s deemed as a low-income household you may qualify for a grant from 50%-100% off your next boiler depending on your circumstances under the ECO scheme.  If you feel you may qualify for an ECO grant, use our grant eligibility checker to find and out and if you are simply fill out the contact us form that appears at the end of you using our eligibility checker and one of our team will call you to arrange a survey.

Do you qualify for a Boiler Replacement Grant?

If your boiler is over 6 years old, and someone in your household is on a qualifying benefit or your house is deemed by your Local Authority to be a low-income household then you could qualify for a 50% – 100% grant saving you thousands £s.   Meaning you have nothing to pay back ever.

Applicants under the Boiler Replacement Grant scheme must satisfy the following criteria:

• Own your home
• Private tenants must have permission from the landlord (First Time Central Heating only)
• One person in your house hold must be on one of the following benefits (see below)
• Child Benefit *

Are There Any Boiler Replacement Grant For Over 60’s?

Yes, there are Boiler replacement grants for over 60’s now available for homeowners only, under ECO 4.  The Boiler replacement grant for over 60’s is also part of the Local Authority backed scheme called the Energy Companies Obligation or more commonly known as ECO.  Depending on your circumstances the you could have the full cost of the work carried out covered which does not have to be paid back.  In other cases, a small contribution may have to be made towards the grant.
